This is a special message from my sister Randa Leonard (born Tanya Thompson, formerly Randa Logan ) to the child she placed for adoption in 1989. His name is Matthew Spitzer. He lives in Tennessee with his parents, Dennis and Linda Spitzer, and a little sister, Hannah. 

To Matthew Marshall Spitzer from his birthmom:

Dear Matthew,

Hi! I'm not sure what to say, because I'm not sure what questions you have. I will try my best though.

You were the most awesome thing that ever happened to me at that point in my life. I still have fond feelings for your bio-father because of you. The most important thing to me was to give you everything (not just material things) that I never had. 

The whole time I carried you, every decision I made was for your benefit, because you have and will always mean so very much to me. In the years since, I have thought about my decision and have sometimes wished I could have done things differently, but then I think of how happy you made your mom & dad the day you were born. I would never want to take that happiness from them. 

If you ever want to talk or anything I will try to keep my address and phone number updated and easily accessible. And don't worry, I will let you set the pace for whatever relationship you want. I love and respect your parents. I would love to see them again also. Please let them know that I never want to infringe on them or their lives.
